About Stephen Paul Young

about Stephen Paul young

Welcome to my corner of the world, where fine art photography and storytelling converge. I’m Stephen Paul Young, a UK-based photographer with a passion for capturing the beauty of the natural world, the charm of everyday objects, and the stories that lie within every frame.

With a focus on landscape photographymacro photography, and film photography, I invite you to explore the extraordinary in the familiar. From the sweeping vistas of Watership Down to intricate close-up photography studies of everyday objects, my work celebrates the magic found in the world around us.

About Stephen Paul Young – My Journey

Photography has been a lifelong passion, but it’s only in recent years that I’ve embraced it fully as my creative calling. Armed with an eye for detail and a love for nature, my work spans a variety of themes, including black and white photography on 35mm film, seasonal landscapes, and experimental projects that blend hand-drawn elements in photography.

Each photograph I create is a chapter in a visual story, told through the lens of curiosity and exploration. I strive to capture the subtle beauty found in quiet moments and overlooked details, bringing together light, texture, and mood to create images that invite the viewer to pause, reflect, and see the world differently.

What You’ll Find Here

On this site, you’ll discover my evolving portfolio, which includes:

  • Dawn photography: Capturing the serene beauty of early morning light.
  • Macro photography: Showcasing the textures and details of everyday objects.
  • 35mm film photography: Featuring work shot on Kentmere Pan 100 film using vintage cameras.
  • Watership Down photography: Inspired by the landscapes and lore of this iconic location.
  • Creative photography tips: Guides and insights to help you explore your own creative journey.

Additionally, I’m developing a series of self-published books based on micro photo walks. These combine local history, seasonal photography tips, mental well-being insights, and practical advice for capturing stunning images during your walks.

Why Photography?

For me, photography is more than just an art form; it’s a way to connect with nature, discover stories in unexpected places, and inspire others to see the world through a new lens. Whether it’s the soft glow of sunrise photography or the textures revealed in close-up photography, I aim to celebrate the beauty in both the grand and the minute.

Let’s Connect

Photography is not just about capturing a moment; it’s about telling stories, preserving memories, and finding beauty in everyday scenes. Through my lens, I strive to share the quiet moments of the North Hampshire countryside, the intricate details of wildlife, and the timeless textures of the landscapes that surround us. If you’re looking to bring a piece of calm and inspiration into your home, my collection of fine art prints offers a way to connect with nature and bring that sense of tranquillity into your daily life.
